Day-Mer assists with application processes, provides information, helps with appeals, and oversees ongoing cases related to disability services. For those with a sickness or disability, the following welfare benefits are available and Day-Mer provides support with applications, appeals and representations:
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Children
The DLA for Children is available to those who require childcare assistance (for children under the age of 16) as a result of a medical condition or disability.
- Personal Independence Pay (PIP) for Adults
Personal Independence Pay is support available to adults with a long-term illness or disability who need help as a result. This is available to those over the age of 16 and below the state pension age (66).
- Attendance Allowance (AA) for Elderly
Attendance Allowance is support available to those who have reached state pension age (66) with a medical condition or disability.
- Carer’s Allowance
Carer’s Allowance is available to those giving regular and substantial care to disabled people. You must spend at least 35 hours a week caring for a disabled person to receive the Carer’s Allowance.
- Disabled Person’s Freedom Pass
This is a travel card that allows free travel on transport services across London for any disabled person. You can use your Freedom Pass between 9:30 and 23:00 on weekdays and anytime on weekends and public holidays.
