Day-Mer provides information on and assistance in accessing all social and welfare services, as well as seeks ways to address any other related community concerns. This service is available to all, regardless of age, ethnicity, race, gender etc.. Our aim is to help simplify the process of accessing government services.
Our remaining services fall primarily (but not exclusively) into the categories listed below, along with some of the main issues we help people resolve.
Older People’s Services
State pension is a monthly payment for those who have reached state pension age: men born before 06/04/1951 and women born before 06/04/1953.
Pension Credit is available to people over state pension age (66). As an income-related benefit, the amount you receive will be dependent on your weekly income.
- Attendance Allowance (AA) for Elderly
Attendance Allowance is available for those who have reached state pension age (66) and have a medical condition or disability.
Winter Fuel Payments are available to those born on or before 05/10/1954 to help with heating bills. The Winter Fuel Payment could be between £100-300.
- 60+ London Oyster Photocard
This travel card allows free travel on a range of transport services across London for anyone over 60 years of age. You can use your Freedom Pass between 9:30 and 23:00 on weekdays and anytime on weekends and public holidays.
